About MyEmpire
The interactive 3D billboard for the modern web.
MyEmpire is a gamified multiplayer billboard. We have mapped the entire Earth into 195+ purchasable national territories, rendering them on a real-time, interactive 3D globe.
The project takes inspiration from early internet milestones like the Million Dollar Homepage, combined with modern real-time WebGL mechanics. Instead of static, pixel-grid real estate, we give users the power to claim whole nations on a spin-to-explore 3D earth, directing real visitors to their projects, social channels, or brands.
Core Principles
Visual Prominence
Your brand, icon, and description are rendered directly on the world map. Visitors see your brand immediately when zooming in or spinning the globe.
Escalating Competition
Anyone can buy out your billboard, but only by paying 25% more than you did. The stakes rise with every transaction, generating attention and value.
100% Transparent
Every sale, takeover, and price point is publicly logged in the immutable price history for each country. No hidden fees or private negotiations.
Built for Speed
Powered by a high-performance React-Three-Fiber frontend, lightning-fast edge databases, and secure payments so changes publish globally within milliseconds.
How it Began
MyEmpire started as a simple idea: if you could advertise anywhere on the planet, where would you go? We wanted to see what would happen if we turned global geography into a friendly, open-ended bidding war.
Will tech startups fight over San Francisco? Will travel bloggers grab the Maldives? Will communities unite to lock down their home countries? The map evolves every day based entirely on user interactions.
Project Technology Stack
Our interactive map uses Three.js via react-globe.gl to achieve fluid 60fps renders on mobile and desktop devices. The backend is built using Next.js App Router, structured on Drizzle ORM with a relational Postgres database and serverless caching layer. Payment orchestration is fully managed via Dodo Payments, and automated notifications use Resend.
